Why did I choose this news? I think this information is newsworthy. Because corruption is one of the biggest problems of our country. This news is relevant, also it has news drivers like importance, conflict and special situation. 

About the news. According to VIA, not all of the items is followed. Information is verified, because we can see the sources that confirmed it. Kazpravda is republican newspaper, it is not an independent platform.  But the news is not accountable, because it doesn’t have an author. 

What are the strengths of the news? It gives an important information. It has an informed and authoritative source, which is an anti-corruption agency of Kazakhstan.

What are the weaknesses? There is no author of the news, which means nobody is responsible for it. And there is only one source, not multiple. 

So, in my opinion, news misses some important items, like an author, accountability and having multiple sources. But information is still verified and important.

Why did I choose this news? Because as previous news, this one has a very important problem of our society too: violence in Kazakhstan. This case is about the man who shot his wife and son from another marriage while being under the influence of alcohol. 

About the news. Again, as previous news, the information here is verified, journalist probably was at the hospital, because there is comments from doctor. But the difference with the first news, is that this news is accountable, it has an author, who is Aidana Demisinova. 

What are the strengths? News has a background information about what happened earlier and how everything started. Also news has a conflict, importance and special situation, as first news. Main source is doctor, who told about the health status of the boy. Source is named, informative and verified.

In my opinion, journalist did a good job covering this news, background information and being responsible.
